Telangana government is implementing Kalyana Lakshmi scheme for providing financial assistant for the marriage of girl child in Telangana. Government is providing Rs. 100116 ( One lakh One Hundred and Sixteen Rupees) as financial support for the girls belonging to SC ST BC and EWS families .
The main objective of the Kalyana Lakshmi scheme is to support the economically weaker section families at the time of their girl child marriage . Initially the financial assistance amount is Rs 50116 but gradually it increased to Rs. 100116 . For People with Disability amount is higher i.e. Rs .125116 . The financial assistance amount will be deposited in the bank account of bride’s mother .
Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the Kalyana Lakshmi Scheme, the following conditions must be fulfilled:
- The bride must be the resident of Telangana
- The bride age must be above 18
- The assistant will be provided to the Scheduled Castes(SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) , Backward Classes (BC) and EWS ( Economically Weaker Section) families only
- The annual income of the family should not exceed Rs. 2 lakhs in urban areas and Rs. 1.5 lakhs in Rural areas
- The bride must be unmarried
